Wolves and a Richer Life

'Morning, 'Afternoon, 'Evening,

maybe you wonder what the connections can be between wolves and a richer life

Any wise person would say that all the things are connected, up to you to find how. There are always direct and less direct connections, but there are always some.

We hope you like reading these English articles we have chosen for you to work on.

They are from "The New York Times" and "The Guardian"; they have been selected by Speak Up. We would be very pleased if you felt fascinated by this reading, the way we do all the times we hear of so unexpected stories.

It's a matter of training to become, in case we aren't yet, optimistic. And English is the right excuse.

What you can do with both articles, is taking these titles: Not Just About Being Positive, Do It Now!, Learning Optimism, Framing Your Thoughts - first article -  Fascination, The Family, Into The Wild, A Scary Moment, Protection, My New Life - second article - and create your own connections to build your story - Intermediate Level, or in alternative, any single title at a time and write separate sentences - Elementary Level

In class we'll continue together, comparing all written productions.

W

Do you have any other memories about wolves?

Do you remember "Dances with Wolves" ?

Would you like to write something about that wolf?

Very soon we'll talk about the native Americans too, promised.

Let you be fascinated also by films and enjoy your English while writing, so that it will be even a greater pleasure reading you. Ideas are bubbling, we are going to talk about them in class and we'll keep all of you informed about any further development.

Benedetta: good job! Like and love usually plus the ing form; its life is a possessive adjective, while it's is pronoun plus verb to be; pack of wolves; for living (or to live):some documentaries, plural; the preposition for TV is on.

See you in class, choose another page and continue writing!

Martina: continue with your interest for animals, and let you be fascinated by wolves. There is a film, its title is Grey,  where wolves play a disquieting role, such as to reveal humans' qualities. Beautiful and unexpected, the film and its plot. Find and watch it and tell us in class about it.

I like documentaries on animals, I have seen many of them on every animal species but the wolf is one of the most fascinating and mysterious for me, I adore the legends about werewolves.
Shaun Ellis is a person to admire, living together with a pack of wolves must have been a unique experience. I hope he continues to help these wonderful animals

I like write something about wolves because the wolf is my favourite animal. I like it because the wolf can't stay in it's life alone but it must has an herd for live, and in my opinion we must have a " herd " too because we must stay together with our friends. I like watch some documetary of Wolves too, and I love watch a movie of TV and it's name is "Teen Wolf".

It's actually very complex in this active life to listen news on Television, thus I just
use world wide web for that reason, and take the most recent
news.

In my opinion Shaun Ellis was very brave and he showed a lot of patience. It is not easy to be accepted by a pack of wolves. He really loves the wild and he is willing to sacrifice himself and to risk to get informations he wants. He has realised the dream he had as a child. I love animals very much but I'm sure I wouldn't be able to live a year in the Woods as he, to eat raw meat and sleep in the cold. About wolves, as other animals, sometimes are unpredictable, but if we show them our love, they will do the same with us.

What a beautiful dream to live in harmony with animals!
Thanks Shaun Ellis and people like that we can appreciate better nature and animals to understand that we aren't the bosses of the world!!! every little or big living has the right to be respected.
Thanks to Shaun's knowledges the farmer has solved his problem with wolves without using violence.
I adore dogs, I have a dog and I'm reading books to understand its behaviours to have a better relationship with it.
I know a dog isn't a wolf and I'm not Shaun Ellis but this is my little contribution to live in harmony with them to avoid a wrong approach causing violence between us.
Discovering animal behaviour we can improve our life style, we can learn a lot by them, because in my opinion they are better than us.

John Dunbar is an officer of the Union Arm. He is alone in the outpost most remote of all, called Fort Sedgwich.
He has a rifle, in the distance he sees a wolf, he would like to shoot it, but the wolf looks at him sitting on its hind legs.
John Dunbar dances in the prairie with the wolf "Two Socks". The indians think that this white man is extraordinary. The best part of the movie "Dances with Wolves",is the moment when he gives off the emotions inside himself, with dancing around the fire.
Dances, Dances and the wolf recognizes him. Becomes part of the whole, and so he will named "Dances with Wolves".
