Assia is considered one of the most influential North African writers. In 1955 she was accepted at the Ecole Normale Superieure, an elite Parisian college, she was the first Algerian woman to be accepted. She is currently a professor at the New York University. 			<description><![CDATA[The history of the Fulani seems to begin with the Berber people of North Africa. Today the Fulani are 18 milion of people and they live in the countries of West Africa. They are the largest group of nomadic people in the world. They are taller, slimmer and lighter than many of African people. Fulani men wear a solid color of shirt and pants and a long cloth wrapped around their faces. The Fulani women are very graceful. Their clothes often have a background color of yellow and red. The women enjoy wearing many bracelets on their wrists. The men and women have markings on the face: they received them as children. They consider the cows the most treasured of the animals. The cows are so special because a person can't speak Fulfulde if he doesn't own a cow. The women spend several hours preparing the evening meal. 			<description><![CDATA[Fulani people of West Africa are the largest group of the World. Fulani were the first group of people in West Africa to convert to Islam. The crossing of the Niger with the herds has been recognized by Unesco as World Cultural Heritage. Each family chooses 2 or 4 young peaple from 10 to 16 years to accompagny the herds in the journey to the North. At the crossing of these young people review their families after a long time. Is at this time that parents choose who their daughters and soons will be married. Aissa is the name that Arabs gave to our Jesus.]]></description>
