This is a very interesting article.I think that the idioms are a nice way to learn languages and they are also important to understand a culture. It's true also that we need a very good knowledge of a language to use and understand some expressions of urban slang. We need to live a lot of time in an english-speaker context, and above all don't be afraid to make mistakes and speak. I also would like to do the exercises adout the text but I can't read the image attached.

EX: 10: A good friend One of my best friends is Rosella. I meet her in 2009, she was studying at Faculty of Agriculture in Florence but I didn't know her yet because she was at 3th year while I was at 5th year. We spent together 40 days in Libia doing our internships. We became like sisters and the friendship is still strong today. I like her because she's brilliant and honest, we have many things in common and there is a kind of telepathy between us.

PRE-INTERMEDIATE TEST UNIT 1-4 EX. 9 : A good day in my life A good day in my life was last 24th of January 2011 when I passed my state exam. In particular that day I had the latest oral exam, and fortunately professors of the commission were tired and pretty quiet. The state exam consisted of three written tests and finally the oral one. The most difficult for me was the third test about digital design. We did it in eight hours, while out it was snowing! Fortunately professors helped us during the most difficult phases of the test. The day that I went at University for having the exam results, I hadn't the courage to read and I called my friends to did it for me: I couldn't believe. I had it done!
